Once a year when the ice is thick enough, an agglomeration of diehard skaters appear on the edge of lake Malaren for the Vikingarannet - Viking Race. This is an epic, as the name suggests, 80 km ice skating race from Uppsala to Stockholm along the river which for the dudes in full-body tights and the expression to go with it, complete in just over an hour and a half. impressive.
